“The kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:21)
Therefore, let us learn to forget exterior things and stop seeking for a God outside of ourselves. If we give ourselves time to search within our own hearts and minds, then we shall truly find God. However, we must make a sincere effort and “turn to God with all our hearts” (Joel 2:12).
We must recognize the fact that our bodies are the true temples of God. All God’s glory & beauty can be found right where we are. We do not have to travel anywhere to meet Him; because He is not found in a building built by the hands of men or one which is composed of wood, brick, stone, or gold. In fact, the temple that God has choosen to dwell within He has helped to build Himself.
Therefore, let us give God the most elegent and beautiful temple that we can give Him. Let us make it a proper sanctuary for Him through the purification of our hearts and minds. Let us do some interior cleaning and so that we can allow room for God and His love to grow and expand within us. Let’s get rid of all the attachments that are keep us feeling separated or disconnected from God; and sweep out all the selfish desires which serve only our own will rather than the will of our God & Creator.
For a soul that truly & sincerely loves God, desires that His Will be done and despises all things that are less than God. So, if we truly desire to connect to God then we must forget everything else and turn our gaze within & upon ourself alone. You will make great progress by keeping yourself free from the things that this world brainwashes you into believing are important and focus solely on God and the things of His spiritual kingdom.
Seek nothing but God, look nowhere but within to find Him; and you shall surely come to know Him. There is no pilgrimage you need to make to get closer to Him. He is already closer than the skin on your bones. And there is nothing that is external to you which can bring you the real joy, happiness, and/or love which you seek.
Only God brings true comfort to the soul, peace to the mind, and happiness to the heart. It’s all waiting there within you. Dig deep to find Him and discover the priceless treasure of His Kingdom.
