As another year ends, many of us may be making our resolutions for the coming New Year. 
But, this year let us not just focus on changing externals, like our outer appearance, through dieting & weight loss. Instead, let us focus on changing internally.
While dieting, exercise, and weight lose may be a great to do for our physical health. As the New Year approaches let us also take stock of our spiritual health. Let us try to be more conscious of our thoughts, words, & deeds; and as we analyze ourselves and discover any negativity within us, let us quickly remove it or correct it by replacing it with positive thoughts, words, and deeds. Let us try to not speak unkindly to anyone, but rather be uplifting in the all the words that we say. Let us become more patient, forgiving, and compassionate towards all those that we meet. And in addition to removing a few pounds, let us remove any desires, habits, and qualities that are not beneficial to our spiritual growth.
Also, instead of searching outside ourselves for what we think will bring us happiness & peace. Let us embark on the greatest journey there is: the one to find our True & Inner Self! For, when we make this discovery we find that all lasting happiness & peace is really within us. Worry less about changing your outer appearance, for that is not really who you are. Instead, seek to discover who it is behind the mind & personality. Look deep into your heart, and then allow the love you find there to grow & expand.
If we truly want to make the world a better place in 2014 then we must begin by changing ourselves. Gandhi said, “We must become the change we wish to see in the world.” Therefore, if we desire a peaceful world, we must be peaceful; and if we desire a loving world, then we must be loving. For, the world returns to us what we send out.
I wish you all a very HAPPY & BLESSED NEW YEAR! I pray that you may be filled with Light, Love, Peace, Health, and that you are forever showered with God’s blessings. I pray that all souls awaken to the love that is within them; and that it opens & purifies every heart so that this love may be made manifest in world around us. We are co-creators with God and we hold within us the power to bring heaven to earth.
