In the beginning, all souls were living in a state of unity with God. Unfortunately, we have fallen from that state. However, this was not God’s will; and therefore if we do not see, feel, or know God intimately we should be aware that this is through no one’s fault but our own. So now the ultimate goal, for those of us incarnate on this earth, is to regain the unity and oneness that we had with God when we were first created.
The feeling that God is far off is really just an illusion. The truth is, since we have “life”, we are never really separated from God at all. For, the Spirit is the Father of our lives and we are always connected to Him through the “Life Force” which animates our bodies. It is connecting with and attuning to the “Life” within us is that makes reunion with God a very real possibility.
In fact, God is always speaking and calling to us; but the cares, noises, and things of this world have diverted our attention from Him. But, our minds are like an antenna or radio transmitter, and if we set the dial to the right frequency we can pick up on God’s signal. So, how to we do this?
- By becoming a master of our selves; by controlling our senses and thoughts; and through spiritual practices such as contemplation, meditation, and prayer.
I want to remind you again that God is always seeking an intimate relationship with us. And so, if we feel separated from Him in anyway, just know that it is we who have moved away; and not Him. Therefore, if we desire to get close to God and have a direct experience of Him, then it’s not that we must call God to us, but rather that we must make the move to return ourselves to Him. It is we who must turn around and keep our faces to His Light so that all manner of darkness shall always be behind us. For, the thing which keeps us in darkness, belieiving this illusion, and separates us from God is “sin”.
“your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you… (Isaiah 59:2)”
So, now what is “sin” you might ask?
- “Sin” is anything which disobeys God’s Law.
So, what is the Law?
The only law is that:
- We must love God with all our heart, mind & soul; above all things. And love one another as children of our One God.
If we can fully live this law than God, Himself, has promised that He shall make Himself known to us & we shall be reunited with Him:
- “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13)
- “Blessed are th pure in heart, for they will see God.” (Matthew 5:8)
- “Absorb yourself in Me [God]; be wholly devoted to Me [God]; worship Me [God] alone: And you shall undoubtedly reach Me [God]. This I [God] promise you faithfully.” Bhagavad-Gita 18:65
It is only by following the path of love that we can again reunite ourselves with God and become part of the Oneness that we are all seeking to rediscover. Therefore, let us nurture love and manifest it to everyone we meet. By doing this we will move quickly along our spiritual path and back into the arms of our loving God & Creator.
